Tesla’s new Semi truck production facility in Nevada received a significant delivery of a large stamping press, a key component for manufacturing the Tesla Semi. The equipment, transported by two semi-trucks using a triple trailer, arrived at the site, marking a milestone in the facility’s development. This delivery follows reports of Tesla preparing for increased production capacity, with the stamping press expected to support the fabrication of the Semi’s structural components. The Nevada plant, currently under construction, is designed to produce up to 50,000 units annually once operations reach full capacity, with initial high-volume production targeted for late 2025 and meaningful output scheduled for 2026. Earlier this week, Tesla confirmed ongoing progress, with sightings of Semi frames stacking up outside the facility, indicating pre-production activities. The company has also expanded its Semi charging infrastructure, adding new Megacharger sites, including one near Denver, Colorado, to support testing and deployment. PepsiCo, a major partner, operates 21 Tesla Semis at its Sacramento depot, with plans to build additional chargers at a North Carolina facility. Recent trials with the Semi, including a 5,000-mile winter test by thyssenkrupp and a freight trial by ArcBest, demonstrated the truck’s ability to handle varied terrain, including a 7,200-foot climb over Donner Pass. Tesla aims to deliver production-spec units to customers by 2026, with the Nevada facility playing a central role in this expansion.
